MUNICIPAL SERVICES

BUILDING PERMITS

Permits are required for all new construction, alterations, moving of buildings or structures, mobile home move-in and temporary electrical services. Permits may be obtained by submitting an application to the Vance Town Hall. FEES: Residential - $4.50 per $1,000.00 (Minimum Residential $30.00)

          Commercial - Please contact the Building Department

Fees for electrical, plumbing, mechanical and gas are included with a building permit fee for new construction, additions and alterations.

Moving of building or structure........$100.00 (Does not include Mobile Home)

Demolition Permit..............................$50.00 Proof of compliance with Health Department regulations for proper abandonment of any septic tank will be required, when applicable, or sanitary sewers capped, and all utility service shall be disconnected prior to commencement of demolition.

Temporary Electrical Permit....................$30.00

Re-Inspection ...........................................$30.00




MOBILE HOME PERMIT

Mobile Home move in.................................$125.00
Includes:  electrical, heating and/or air-conditioning, steps and landing or deck*. *Minimum requirement for steps and landing  is 3' X 3' landing and 3' wide steps, over 3 steps require handrail with a minimum height of 34". (deck details available at Town Hall)

The contractor that is moving/setting up the mobile home will need to submit the following information to obtain a permit.

1.  Tuscaloosa or Bibb County Health approval of septic system or receipt for sewer impact and tap fee from the Town of Vance.

2.  Sketch of lot and home placement showing set-back from property lines.

3.  All contractors must have a Business License from the Town of Vance.

4.  Submit a list of any sub-contractors.

Mobile homes that are not moved into a mobile home park are only allowed in A-1 Agricultural District upon compliance with the Town of Vance Zoning Ordinance.

No mobile home move-in permit will be issued until all fees are paid and all contractors have a Business License from the Town of Vance.

GARBAGE SERVICE Pick-up on Monday..........$11.00 monthly

Garbage must be in bags and their tops must be securely fastened.   Please contact Waste Management for large item pickup.

WATER SERVICE Citizens Water Service has completed a 2.2 million dollar expansion in the area.  Financial assistance for water line extensions will be examined on a case by case basis.

SEWER
 The Town of Vance has invested more than 5.5 million dollars in a new Waste Water Treatment Facility and new sewer lines.  For a limited time, the Town will waive impact fees and connection fees for new commercial development on a case by case basis.

GRANTS
 The Town of Vance will assist in the pursuit of all appropriate grants from the Federal and State governments on behalf of the interested developers.
