The Tuscaloosa County School System has had a rich heritage of educational progress since its establishment in 1871. There are 25 schools, located throughout the county, that provide comprehensive, community-based learning centers for students enrolled in kindergarten through grade 12.
As one of the fastest growing school systems in Alabama, Tuscaloosa County Schools has a student population of over 15,500. The system consists of 15 elementary schools, one middle school, two junior high schools and five high schools.
