Permits are required for all new construction, alterations, moving of buildings or structures, mobile home move-in and temporary electrical services. Permits may be obtained by submitting an application to the Vance City Hall. Find the Vance Zoning Ordinance and the Vance Subdivision Regulations under the "more" tab.

Mobile Home Permit $250.00 Includes steps and landing at each door (front & back) for minimum size deck 3'x3'. Please find permit information below. Includes: electrical, heating and/or air-conditioning, steps and landing or deck*. *Minimum requirement for steps and landing is 3' X 3' landing and 3' wide steps, over 3 steps require handrail with a minimum height of 34". (deck details available at Town Hall) Moving a building or structure $150.00 (does not include mobile home) The contractor that is moving/setting up the mobile home will need to submit the following information to obtain a permit:
1. Tuscaloosa or Bibb County Health approval of septic system or receipt for sewer impact and tap fee from the Town of Vance.
2. Sketch of lot and home placement showing set-back from property lines.
Mobile homes that are not moved into a mobile home park are only allowed in A-1 Agricultural District upon compliance with the City of Vance Zoning Ordinance.
No mobile home move-in permit will be issued until all fees are paid and all contractors have a Business License from the City of Vance.

ADVALOREM TAXES ORDINANCE NO. 10072019 AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH AND IMPOSE AD VALOREM TAX BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF VANCE, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS: The Town Council for the Town of Vance hereby authorizes the Clerk for the Town of Vance to impose an additional 5 mill ad valorem tax on all real and personal property located within the Town limits of the Town of Vance pursuant to Section 216 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901. Said tax to become effective October 1, 2020 and to be collected by the Tuscaloosa County Tax Collector’s Office and be remitted to the Town of Vance.

WATER SERVICE Citizens Water Service has completed a 2.2 million dollar expansion in the area. Financial assistance for water line extensions will be examined on a case by case basis. SEWER The City of Vance has invested more than 5.5 million dollars in a new Wastewater Treatment Facility and new sewer lines. For a limited time, the City will waive impact fees and connection fees for new commercial development on a case-by-case basis. GRANTS The City of Vance will assist in the pursuit of all appropriate grants from the Federal and State governments on behalf of the interested developers.
